On the west coast of the Iberian Peninsula, Portugal draws millions of tourists to its lovely beaches every year. The famous destination awes people with its stunning sunsets and great beach facilities, accommodating anyone from families with children to young people on party vacations.

Whether you enjoy the calm or the not-so-calm summer activities, you will find your place in Algarve! Whether you are travelling with your family or in a large group, we have the means to accommodate you and ensure all your preferences are satisfied on your holiday!

The nature of Algarve

If you choose to visit Algarve for your holidays this year, the first thing you need to do is head straight to the coast. No, not to the beach, to the coast! The coastline of Portugal offers some of the best views of steep rocks diving into the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Ponta da Piedade is a famous spot where you will find yourself on top of the huge cliffs providing amazing panoramas of the ocean. Furthermore, you can explore the area with its rock arches and coves. Water and wind have been creating their own form of art in Ponta da Piedade and you have a chance to explore it by foot or even rent a small boat and admire its beauty from the water.

We are all eager to visit the beach once we get to Portugal. Frankly speaking, these are some of the most amazing beaches throughout Europe. The coastline is really unique and also colorful as there are different types of seaside area to enjoy such as bay beaches. The cliffs serve as a beautiful backdrop for your dreamy photographs especially during sunrise! Get lost in the countryside and away from tourist hotspots near the larger cities and you will be able to enjoy a quiet day at the beach.

To run away from the heat, head for the woods! Ria Formosa National Park is a lagoon listed as one of the country’s 7 wonders. Six inlets from the ocean have formed a network of small islands. Apart from being a national park, this place is also important for Portugal’s economy as some of the waters are used as waterways, and on others there are seafood farms.

Activities to enjoy

If you prefer a beach with amenities for some physical activity, then head to Praia da Marinha where adrenaline fans love to hang out. You can have a day full of adventures on one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe and try snorkeling, hiking or rock climbing. Pack the family up and visit Praia do Vale de Centeanes where your kids can have a lot of fun with others their age.

For the passionate hikers Algarve has a wide range of hiking trails to choose from. The Telheiro Beach Trail crosses an area of geologic significance where you can learn a lot about the formation and development of the Iberian Peninsula as we know it today and enjoy some of the most dramatic and picturesque views of the rocky bay.
