Beach house rentals

Summer vacation resorts in Spain or France are undoubtedly beautiful but also extremely crowded. Have you ever wondered where else could you travel to during summer, if you wanted to escape the tourist hot points? If your definition of a summer vacation includes discovering less popular destinations and their nature, while enjoying days and nights in a cozy beach house, then you have come to the right place. While Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany might not be your first idea for beach house accommodation options, these countries are in fact a great getaway during summer. Take a chance and enjoy summer days in Europe by staying in one of our fully equipped beach holiday homes. A great advantage of a vacation in Wester Europe are the moderate temperatures; even on the hottest of days the water breeze can make anything better.

Unexpectedly good throughout the summer

For the Dutch in general, nature is of great importance and much effort is put into its conservation. The territory of this small country houses more than 20 natural reserves and national parks such as: Hoge Veluwe, including the largest lowland natural zone in this part of Europe; or the uniquely terraced landscape of Meinweg National Park. It has a long coastline with beaches perfect for all kinds of activities.

Zeeland, for example, is the the perfect province of the Netherlands for a beach holiday. On top of the beautiful weather, the location of this region has turned it into a colorful mixture of history, traditions and culture. France is another great place during summer. An enchanting territory completely covered in forests, lakes and rivers, colorful landscape and picturesque villages behind every corner. Except for a wild adventure in nature, you can visit nearby villages with their shops and restaurants and try the traditional cuisine, after spending a day discovering the rich biodiversity of the parks.

Activities to try

To get the most out of the weather, especially in the Benelux region, consider taking your bike on a vacation with you. You will surely enjoy one of the hundreds of bike routes on the dense network between the neighboring countries in the area. An especially interesting route is the one which follows back the path of river Maas from Maastricht through Belgium and all the way to France. This route follows the river through dense vegetation without almost any denivelation – therefore it is considered appropriate for all levels of cycling expertise. Of course, on the beach you can undertake countless of activities as well, such as kitesurfing.

Biking and hiking are also favorite activities for Germans and Luxembourgers, the latter offering a dense network of routes for hikers. The north of the country is covered in high plains and steep paths deep in the Ardennes and the Escapardenne trail gives an opportunity to discover this wild side of Luxembourg on one of Europe’s best trails.

If you are feeling more adventurous, head to Belgium’s region of Wallonia. Steep limestone rocks overlook small villages and present wide panoramic views. The province of Namur has numerous established points of access for rock climbers – beginners or professionals – and there are many organized itineraries from which you can choose.
