B&B Valle d’Aosta

Italy has always occupied a special place in our heart! There is no wonder why tourists love the country so much. The unmatched mixture of millennial history and culture, together with the charisma and lightness of life in Italy, bring about a possibility for a vacation in heaven! While some say that you haven’t been to Rome, if you haven’t seen the Pope, we say: You haven’t been to Italy, if you haven’t been to its countryside!

Aosta Valley is located in northwest Italy, right at the border with France and Switzerland. The area has taken the best from the three countries, mostly in terms of culture, turning into a unique destination! The smallest region in Italy in fact has a lot to offer you naturewise! We offer you the chance to explore Valle d’Aosta while staying in our lovely bed-and-breakfast locations! By booking a bed and breakfast you can rest assured that you would definitely learn the most about the local people’s life. Bed and breakfast takes off the load of thinking about your meal in the morning, while also providing you with the chance to meet and get to know your hosts, as well as other locals helping them. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to hear the best local stories and get the best advice for your daily trips!

The Alpine nature of the valley

Italians cherish and protect Aosta Valley for its natural heritage characteristics. Natura-2000 scheme covers most of the region's territory creating a system of ecosystems and gardens harboring diverse plant and animal life.

One of the most beautiful and picturesque places in the area is the Lake Villa Nature Reserve. This alpine area is covered with low mountain lakes and marshes. The vegetation is thriving to say the least and the lake waters house rare plants such as the white waterlily and the amphibian lily.

Valle d’Aosta is where you will find the oldest national park in Italy – Gran Paradiso. This national park is so big it even has three visitor centers. A few small villages share the unique location of the park – Cogne, Valsavarenche and Rhêmes-Notre-Dame. A botanical garden specializing in alpine plant and flower species, famous around the world, can be found in Cogne. Gran Paradiso is also the home to rare European animal species such as the chamois and the golden eagle.

Activities to try

The alpine landscape is the perfect place for activities such as hiking or trekking. Overall, there are more than 5,000 km of different paths scattered across the province. In the summer, a great day trip option is to get to Lake Vargo by car and hike through the Mont Mars Nature Reserve from there! The views are spectacular!

Rock climbing and mountain biking are other options for the adrenaline seekers. There are designated areas for both sports, but it is best if you ask your bed and breakfast hosts what is the nearest place to do that! Rafting is also possible, especially along the Dora Baltea River.
