Canary Islands holidays

The Canary Islands form a famous archipelago on the territory of Spain, which everyone should visit at least once in their lifetimes. Some of the islands comprising the archipelago are quite popular and lots of tourists visit them every year. However, with careful planning, one can also enjoy a wonderful holiday away from the crowds. There is much to see and do around here such as some amazing beaches. If sunbathing is not up your alley, do not worry – the Canary Islands can hide some surprises for you!

A nice way to kick off the organization of your vacation is to take a look at the rental properties we have selected for you. They all have the amenities needed for a comfortable stay, but apart from this they also have a number of other advantages. For instance, their natural surroundings guarantee that nature will be close to you even when you relax in your cosy accommodation.

Explore the nature around

As we mentioned, even if you do not enjoy sunbathing, there will be much for you to see while the beach lovers do what their souls desire the most. We adore national parks, so our first recommendation would be the so-called Caldera de Taburiente National Park, located on La Palma island and founded during 1954. It was associated with some volcanic activity in the past, but one of the most interesting things about it is its name.

A caldera means a large hole - a result of a volcano erupting - and it has given its name to the park. The whole location is staggeringly beautiful, but there is something which will surely impress you, and it is called Los Colores Waterfall. Yes, you guessed it right, it is a colourful waterfall – not a sight you see every day. The fact that it is partially man-made does not take away from its beauty. In fact, it only showcases the fact that nature and man can create astonishing things when working together.

Speaking of volcanoes, why don’t you pay a visit to the Teide Volcano? Those of you who enjoy legends might find it interesting to understand that there have been some myths surrounding the volcano – for instance, it is claimed that an ancient god has been held hostage inside of it. The volcano is part of the Teide National Park, which is to be found in Tenerife. However, do not count on seeing the volcano erupt, as the last time this happened was during the year 1909.

Be active

There are lots of activities which can keep you busy while on your holidays. The Canary Islands are perfect for some snorkelling. Such a pastime can be incredibly rewarding and refreshing, while also giving you a chance to explore the amazing underwater world. Once you see what is waiting for you down there, you are going to be amazed, and you will probably keep coming back here. Of course, it is not only snorkelling – a great day of hiking can have the same effect.
