Chalet Zeeland

Are you looking for the perfect chalet in the Netherlands? Perhaps you are willing to discover the Netherlands and heard that Zeeland is a must place to go? Whatever the case, a relaxing stay in a chalet will be the best option for your adventures in Zeeland. If you did not know, then the province of Zeeland is perfect for a beach holiday. Does this sound interesting to you? Then keep reading and get inspired!

Flora

The chalet you book in Zeeland will be surrounded by all the beautiful flora that this country has to offer. Whether it’s spring, autumn, summer, or winter, every season you will get to see new types of vegetation. There will be lakes and ponds right outside your house or even evergreen bushes and trees. You may wake up to beautiful scenes of the Dutch tulips. The country is famous for its flowers. Did you know that even though the tulips are considered a Dutch symbol now, the gentle and vividly coloured tulips were imported from the Ottoman Empire (nowadays’ Turkey) in the 16th century? In the past, the flower bulbs were used as money until the market collapsed. This moment in Dutch history is also known as Tulip Mania. While you cycle around or take a hike you may spot different types of trees like acacia, alder, ash, birch, catalpa, caucasian wingnut, or even cherry! The most common trees that grow in the Netherlands are oak, elm, pine, linden, and beech. Flowers such as daisies, buttercups, and the purple heather that blooms on the heaths in September can be discovered while hiking in the Dutch long-distance trails, such as E2, E8, E9 through Rotterdam, and E11 from The Hague.

Fauna

In the Netherlands, mammals such as the red deer, wild pigs, foxes, badgers, fallow deers, mouflons, rabbits, hedgehogs, and bats can be found. In total, 541 bird species have been registered. This sounds exciting for bird-watchers, right? The number composes the ducks and most duck-like waterfowl, such as geese and swans. These birds are adapted to an aquatic existence with webbed feet, flattened bills, and feathers that are excellent at shedding water due to an oily coating. You will be able to see a number of animals while visiting the Dutch national parks or while hiking or cycling across the country. If you are a passionate bird-watcher or animal lover, then what do you think about renting a tiny house in the middle of the Netherlands’ nature to discover more of its natural spots and wildlife?

Activities

There are plenty of activities that you can do in The Netherlands, either indoors or outdoors. If you want to explore the diverse nature of the country within one holiday, it’s not a problem! The Netherlands is relatively small, so the distances between its charming villages and natural places can be covered by bike. There are special biking routes that will give you ease to travel around. From forests, rivers, rural areas, and polder landscapes, to the coastal strips and beaches in the Hague and Zeeland, you’ll be surprised by the hidden beauty of the Netherlands. Other popular activities include walking, boat trips, and fishing. Also, the Netherlands has several superb hiking routes that will help you explore the Veluwe National Park or Arkemheen-Eemland National Park. Some of our landlords from whom you can rent holiday houses in the Netherlands offer information packs with suggested activities and day trips in the area. You could even do lake activities during summer like kayaking, canoeing or just sitting outside your chalet during the winters with a bonfire and marshmallows. Share some good stories with your friends or family in the night time and explore the natural surroundings in the morning.

Accommodation

In a chalet house, you get everything you might need from your holiday accommodation. A warm place to stay, a comfy bed, a fully fitted kitchen, and a beautiful nature just outside your home. And when you stay in a home in the natural world, secluded from the big cities, there's not much you need other than the right company. Of course, if you want to treat yourself to some spa, or more luxury, that's also possible. You can always book this chalet even if your budget is a little tight. You will have a private swimming pool and your own sauna/jacuzzi to relax after a long day in the greater outdoors. It's perfect for a long weekend break to unplug from your busy life. Some homes even allow pets inside, so you can finally bring your dog on a holiday with you. It will have all the freedom to run around in pure nature, and you won't have to worry about leaving it home alone.

Climate

Wondering when you should go on a vacation? Rent a luxury chalet during winter and it will definitely be an unforgettable experience. In Northern Europe, you should know that the temperatures are most of the time below 0 degrees Celsius. Be prepared with boots and really warm sweaters. However, you can enjoy a lovely time skiing or inside your luxury chalet. Imagine yourself sipping a cup of hot chocolate while chatting with your loved ones. However, you can do the same in Central or Southern Europe where the weather is less cold.

On the other hand, during summers, the temperatures reverse. In Southern Europe, it is usually hot and on the opposite side of the continent, the temperatures during the summer months are not so high. Autumn and spring are usually rainy in Central Europe but those are the seasons when nature shows us an explosion of colours. Therefore, be sure to check the weather forecast before you make the booking and start packing your luggage!
