Lerbach is situated in the Harz mountains and thus offers everything forests and mountains have to offer. As soon as you exit the garden you’ll walk straight into the woods. While hiking you’re sure to come across one of several mountain lakes that in summertime are suitable for recreation and swimming. Dogs will love that as well. In wintertime this area is wonderful as well, as Lerbach has a ski slope with ski lift, and in there are many cross-country trails nearby.
