Want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city? Then this is the ideal place. Located on the eastern edge of the Alblasserwaard lies the picturesque village of Schelluinen. Hidden in a quiet area between the fruit trees and lies our charming vacation home. This spacious and unique accommodation was built three years ago to create a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere for our guests. Het Huisje aan de Vliet is a 4-person log cabin with a living room, bathroom and two spacious bedrooms equipped with a double bed (140 x 200). It is further equipped with all conveniences, including a fully equipped kitchen, a sitting area with TV equipped with, among other things, Netflix. In addition to Wifi, the cottage also has a pleasant climate control with both heating and air conditioning. The windows and doors are equipped with mosquito nets and thus keep any unwanted insects out while airing. Come and enjoy the vast polder landscape! Note: No smoking on the entire property.

The city of Gorinchem, chosen by readers of the ANWB, as the most beautiful fortified city of the Netherlands in 2022, is a stone's throw from our vacation home. From there it is a delightful ferry ride across the Merwede River to Loevestein Castle for a delicious lunch. For nature lovers, a visit to the National Park De Hollandse Biesbosch with its special visitor center is a must. In the municipality of Molenlanden you can enjoy cycling to, for example, the windmills in Kinderdijk or kayaking on De Vliet and De Giessen. Want to spend a day shopping? Then the cities of Utrecht, Dordrecht and Rotterdam are nice and close by. If you like antiques and curiosities, De Graanbuurt with its cozy stores is just around the corner. For museum lovers there is museum the Reghthuys in Giessenburg and you will find the Hamelhuis and the Gorcums Museum in Gorinchem. In short ; more than enough to see and do!
