We are happy to share our self-built detached gazebo with our guests. It stands on the tip of an island, on the edge of the nature reserve Het Rijk der 1000 Eilanden. From this unique location you have a wide view over the water-rich area, where Langedijker gardeners have grown their cabbages and potatoes for years. This nature house has a spacious sitting room with wood stove and heat wall. In the adjacent vegetable garden we grow herbs and vegetables, which you can use directly in the kitchen with induction hob and oven. In the bedroom there is a comfortable double bed. If necessary, we have another sofa bed in the living room. A cozy bathroom with walk-in shower completes it. Outside you will find several seating areas. There is also a fire pit in the natural garden. There is no car traffic around the house. A picturesque lock between the Alkmaar-Kolhorn canal and the island kingdom makes this impossible. You park your car on the Havenplein. From there it is a 400 mtr walk or bike ride.

You can enjoy hiking here. Two routes of 4.5 and 8 km connect directly to the cottage. Or visit Museum Broeker Veiling, also within walking distance, to experience more of the history of the area. There you can take a knowing tour. In the village you can rent canoes and SUPs, which you can use to paddle yourself through the island kingdom. For art and architecture lovers, a visit to Bergen (12 km) with Museum Kranenburgh is recommended. Beautiful seaside resorts are Bergen aan Zee (15 km) and Egmond aan Zee (20 km). Alkmaar (10 km) has a historic city center with cozy cafes and restaurants. Fancy a movie? Then visit a movie house in Alkmaar or Bergen. Closer by, you can go to Vue in Heerhugowaard (3 km). Do you prefer to go into nature? The Noordhollands Duinreservaat between Bergen and Schoorl (20 km) has long walking and (mountain bike) cycling routes. In recreation area Geestmerambacht (5 km) you can spot owls and take a refreshing dip.
