Welcome to the smallest village in Auvergne, with the greatest allure for hikers and cyclists. The village is inhabited by friendly French people who have lived there for years or have had their second home for generations. We bought our semi-detached farmhouse in 2017 and refurbished it with much love and pleasure. The big house is a family home that we rent out by request, but the smaller Gite we are happy to rent out to anyone. The mountain lodge is the former farmer's barn, which we have converted into a comfortable residence. From the mountain cottage you have a beautiful view over the valley and in the distance you can see the peaks of the Puy de Sancy. The cottage is fully equipped with a dining area, comfortable sofa, kitchenette (stove and refrigerator), shower and toilet on the ground floor. With a sturdy wooden staircase you climb to the sleeping loft. Because the winters can be very cold, there is underfloor heating in addition to the wood stove and a quick-heating wall radiator for wet coats.

We hope many people can enjoy the beautiful surroundings, the natural park, the mountains and forests. The GR runs through La Godivelle and attracts many hikers. You can go on treks, visit pretty towns, enjoy good food, or go skiing, mountain biking, rowing, swimming, or whizzing down the cable car in Superbesse. Tired hikers can enjoy the views around the mountain hut in a comfortable chair or at the picnic table. About half an hour away by car you will find: Besse: a medieval town with cozy stores, restaurants and cafes. The weekly markets are a must. On the way you pass the waterfall de Vaucoux. Superbesse: a resort for sports like skiing, cross-country skiing, canoeing and swimming. Issoire: the trip there is breathtakingly beautiful. The small town with a historic center has a beautiful church Saint-Sainte Austremoine, nice restaurants and modern stores and amenities.
