The cottage of about 90 m2 is located in a weekend area on a large plot at the edge of the forest. Ideal for rest, enjoying nature, as well as hiking or mountain biking in the immediate vicinity. For the children there is a trampoline, a cable car and a garage with a table tennis table. The kitchen has an opening to the terrace for BBQ in summer and there is a cozy wood stove in the living room for the evening or in winter. The cottage has a relatively large kitchen, 2 bathrooms and plenty of sleeping places to choose from (bedrooms with single or double beds). There is also a room with a desk to sit quietly for a day's work at home if needed. Note: we don't have internet in the house (yet); but we do have good 5G coverage for calling or hotspot. We mostly use the house ourselves but are happy to make it available to guests during open periods. Part of the garden (approx 7500m2) is surrounded by a fence (ideal for dog owners).

Our nature house is located in a forest within walking distance of the village of Sommerau (70 inhabitants). From the house it is about 10 minutes drive to Trier, the oldest city in Germany in the middle of the famous wine region around the Moselle. In Sommerau there is a cozy Pizzeria with a terrace in good weather. A former train track runs as a bike path/hiking trail directly to Trier, or to Hermeskeil (54km, at 500m altitude). Within 3.5km you can go shopping by bike or to the bakery in Waldrach. Luxembourg and Echternach can be reached in less than an hour - for a day trip to the city or for beautiful walks through the rocks. From the house itself there are wonderful (marked) hiking and mountain bike routes.
