Eco Chalet

Do you wish to have a nice and peaceful holiday out in nature, but at the same time do it in an ecofriendly way? Take a look at our completely energy neutral eco chalets made out of durable and environmentally friendly materials with the highest construction standards.

Eco holiday houses are gaining popularity in Belgium and the Netherlands as well as in Italy in the past years. There are some accommodations in France and Spain too. Our chalets are made out of sustainable wood materials, which gives exceptionally low heat transfer and are furnished with the most beautiful and stylish furniture. Many of them allow pets, have big gardens with fruit and veggies as well as the internet and tv. The more expensive ones even have their own swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Their sizes vary from a small cozy chalet for two to enormous houses big enough for 12 people.

The amazing wonders of Mother Nature

For a relatively small country, the Netherlands boasts a rich variety of nature. The largest national park is De Hoge Veluwe is a perfect example of that with its rich flora and fauna. In the north is the Wadden Sea, which is the largest coastal tidal wetland in Europe and on the World Heritage List. Lauwersmeer National Park is situated there. For the winter, hundreds of thousands of birds migrate to the area, like the Eurasian Wigeon, the Tundra Swan, and the Barnacle Goose. To keep the landscape open, big grazers are used like the Konik horses and Highland cattle, besides normal horses and cows. However, the beaches of Zeeland, the hills of Limburg, the Brabant Sahara, Venice of the Lowlands and other nature reserves will also take your breath away.

The coastal plain of Belgium consists mainly of sand dunes and polders. Further inland lies a smooth, slowly rising landscape irrigated by numerous waterways with fertile valleys. The thickly forested hills and plateaus of the Ardennes are more rugged and rocky with caves and small gorges. Signal de Botrange is the highest point in Belgium, located in the High Fens, at 694 meters. You will find many rare plant species in this area due to the harsh climate and long winters. Belgium's nature is very similar to the Netherland's nature. More than 20% of the country is covered with forests, mostly found in Wallonia.

In addition to the mountainous regions and the islands, the predominant natural areas of Italy are the lowlands north of the Apennines and their foreland west and east of the Apennines. The hilly alpine country, breathtaking mountain ranges, beautiful coastlines and lowlands prove to be very inviting. While mountain valleys, glaciers and high peaks dominate the Italian Alps, the Po Valley geographically located below is one of the most fertile regions of Italy. The 652 km long Po River is the main lifeline of the entire region.

Surprising, diverse and full of contrasts - Spanish nature has a wonderful effect on you. Mountains, volcanoes, wetlands, forests, rivers, valleys, cliffs, lakes... There are so many different environments in Spain to make you feel brand new. Unique and different natural spaces. Some of them, such as the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, the Teide National Park and the Pyrenees, are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the cultural landscape category.

Passing the time in the greater outdoors

If you are on vacation with your family any activity could be fun. You can go bug hunting with your kids. All you need is a magnifying glass and good weather. Or you can make a nature bracelet. All you need to do is to stick the tape around your child's wrist sticky side up, and head out for a nature walk. As you explore, have your child find the prettiest and more colorful flowers for a beautiful bracelet. Find a shade under a tree on the beach of a quiet lake and have a nice afternoon picnic. Take your fishing gear with you and try to catch some fish with your children. And if the weather gets too hot you can always have a swim in the crystal-clear European lakes.

You can have a nice hike with your partner in the forests of De Hoge Veluwe or take one of the free white bikes scattered in the park. Cycle down on the many cycling paths, through the forest and enjoy the fresh air. Find a nice quiet spot for yoga or meditation sessions and become one with nature. If you are a birdwatcher enthusiast, be sure to take your best binoculars when visiting Lauwersmeer National Park.

If you are looking for a holiday packed with adrenaline you should try mountain biking in the Italian Alps or kayaking and canoeing in the clear waters of the Dordogne river in France. And if you are a fan of winter sports the Chamonix resort in France is a must, with its amazing ski slopes.

Should I take my swimsuit or a jacket?

Thanks to the isolation from the materials the eco chalets are built you won't even know what season is until you look out of the window. Europe's climate is too diverse to be described in a short text. It could be generally characterized as a temperate climate. Most of Western Europe has an Oceanic climate, in the Köppen climate classification, featuring cool to warm summers and cool winters with frequent overcast skies. The climate of western Europe is strongly conditioned by the Gulf Stream. Southern Europe has a distinctively Mediterranean climate, which features warm to hot, dry summers and cool to mild winters and frequent sunny skies. Four seasons occur in most of Europe away from the Mediterranean. Summer temperatures in Belgium and the Netherlands in July could reach 25-30 °C with an occasional heat wave (+35 °C), passing in about 1-2 weeks. In comparison the summer temperatures for Italy often go over 40 °C. Winters in Paris are not too cold with average temperatures of 6 °C, but way lower than the average temperatures of Spain - 11 °C.
