This charming and rustique rural hut for four to six persons (renovated farmhouse) from the year 1850, lies at the foot of the mountain Rocciamelone (3538m) in a hamlet nearby the little town of Susa in the province of Piemonte. This “Borgota” consists of several houses from which two are permanently inhabited by two Italian families. From the three terraces and the outdoor room, you have a stunning panoramic view over the Susa-valley and the little town of Susa. It is an excellent place to relax and a good starting point for mountain hiking- and bike tours. The house has been equipped in a very cosy and comfortable way. There is a sleeping room with a two person bed and an open bedroom with a two person bed as well. In the living room there is an additional two person sleeping couch. The house is heated with a pellet stove. WIFI connection is available. If available, another two person apartment can be rented out.

In the summer, there are many possibilities to mountain hike, bike or mountain bike in the different natural reserves of the area. Or a nice tour to the top of the Rocciamelone (3538 meters). The road from Caserole to Susa from the GTA, runs along this little hamlet. This “partisan path” goes to the top of the Rocciamelone the oldest pilgrimage mountain in Europe. At the top, there is a chapel from which you can enjoy an overwhelming view. Various “Via Ferrata” in the surrounding area. And possibilities for rafting and canoeing (Novalesa). In the winter, there is a little family ski resort about a 25 minute ride away (Frais/Chiomonte) and at 40 minute distance, there is the largest interconnected ski area of Italy “Via Lattea”. (Sestriere, Bardonecchia, Monginevre), known from the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006. These resorts also offer opportunities for cross-country skiing and snow shoe hiking. The nice city of Turin is about a 45 minute away. From Susa, there is a train to the centre of Turin with its beautiful squares (piazzas), historical coffee houses, museums etc. A visit to the famous wine region of Piemonte is also worth an effort (Barelo, Barbaresco and Barbera) with the cities of Alba, Aqui Terme and Asti. This is a good recommendation for those who want to be in nature but also don´t want to be too far away from civilisation.
