The nature house is located on the border of Drenthe and Friesland, in an area called Boschoord. From the living room you have a beautiful view of both forest and meadow. The house has three bedrooms with seven beds. If there are two of you, if you want, you can live on the ground floor, there is one of the bedrooms. From the living room, a sliding door opens onto the veranda. The nature house was built in 2001 under architecture and has a very individual character. Because of the central heating and good insulation, it is also very comfortable in winter. In front of the garden, by the road, is a large private parking for two cars. A narrow path leads to the house. Opposite the house you can walk or cycle straight into the forest. Through the green along the garden runs a (quiet) path to the neighbors.

Across the road is a large forest with some land and fens in between. It belongs to the Maatschappij van Weldadigheid, an institution with a rich history of 200 years. The area is part of the National Park Drents-Friese Wold, a very extensive nature reserve by Dutch standards with forests, water, sand drifts and heaths. You can walk and cycle endlessly. The Frisian meadow landscape, interspersed with small forests, is also special. Birds can be seen and heard in abundance. Not far from the house there are other nature reserves, including the Fochteloërveen and the Weerribben. There is much to enjoy culturally, including Romanesque village churches, Museum De Koloniehof in Frederiksoord, the Braid Museum in Noordwolde and museums in Assen, Veenhuizen and Heerenveen. Hunebedden can be found near Havelte. You can swim in the Spokeplas near Noordwolde. You can also do so at the Aekingerzand and in the Bosbad in Vledder.
