An energy self-sufficient paradise in the middle of the Styrian volcanic region. We produce hot water and electricity with our own PV system. The house has no electricity connection but has several batteries that store solar power and supply the house with electricity. We cook with wood from the one-hectare forest around the house. The forest and meadows are part of the property and offer a number of wonderful romantic spots. Additional information: Not recommended for children under 3 years of age, due to the steep Samba stairs in the house! Attention with fire! Experience in cooking with a wood stove is advantageous. Central Europe is a tick area, even here in the forest there are many ticks in early summer. In heavy rain and moisture, the road / dirt road to the house is difficult to pass and you can not get up to the house without four-wheel drive, but you can park on the paved road 200 meters below. Lots of wild animals, mouse sightings not excluded.

The Vulkanland in south-eastern Austria is not mountainous. Gentle hills and forests characterize the landscape and the Vulkanland is a wine and slow food region. It can get very warm in summer. The house is surrounded by forests in a very quiet valley where there are only a few farms. Our favorite places: Kapfenstein Castle, Geo Trail, Path of Reflection and Winkler Hermaden Winery (Olivin, Volcano and Wine), Wine Trail of the Senses in St. Anna, Kaskögerlweg (Kaskögerlweg). Anna, Kaskögerlweg (trail through an old volcano with good snack stops), 5 Elements Trail (exciting themed hiking trail right by the house), the town of Bad Gleichenberg and its thermal baths (Art Nouveau K.u.K. place - which revives the Danube monarchy), Zotter chocolate factory and edible zoo in Riegersburg (culinary delights and adventure playground for children and Vulklanland fish ponds (fishing).
