The varied landscape, dominated by the winding Lot River, makes the area popular with cyclists and walkers. From the house numerous walks can be made through vineyards and the unspoiled nature of the hills along the river. One of the routes passes a number of dolmen, stone burial monuments erected 3000 years before the era. A bicycle is available free of charge. The area, known for its powerful red wines has a large number of castles where wine tastings are organized. Museums (including Zadkine), medieval villages and in the summer months there are numerous music events. Several days a week are markets in the surrounding villages, of which the one in Prayssac was recently voted the best in the department. The capital is Cahors. Here the wide Boulevard Gambetta is the street for shopping, eating and drinking on the many southern French terraces. In the vicinity of the house are local and starred restaurants.
