The nature house looks down on the whole small neighborhood from above, facing south toward the sea. It is accessed through the garden, from the side of the mountain in whose lap it seems to rest. It has retained the flavor of the old Aeolian environment with its old recovered doors, marble kitchenette and small bathroom made out of a bread oven. It's always cool, even on the hottest days of the island summer, when the breeze and swallows play continually through it, as if its two doors were a magical gateway between the sea and the volcano. The living area is equipped with a sofa-bed with a second pull-out single. The sleeping area, arranged on the loft with a double bed, has a large window from which there is access to the roof-terrace with a breathtaking view.

Originating in the late 18th century, the nucleus was inhabited by a large extended family. "The Machichi," as the old people called the mid-coast neighborhood with an undoubted peasant vocation, is surrounded by nature and proudly perched like a tiny casbah. Its location, somewhat detached from the center of town, affords spectacular views and the precious privilege of silence, shifted only by the rustling of the wind in the trees, birdsong and the familiar rumbling of the volcano. The cheerful hustle and bustle of the harbor and the main road that runs through the old fishermen's quarter of Scari, seem so far away and yet they are only a few minutes away: walking down the dirt road of the "torrent" it is possible to reach the very central Via Roma and from there go up to the square of San Vincenzo with its church and terrace with a breathtaking view, or go down to the harbor and the wide black beach of Scari.
