From the luxury position of a floating home, you can - depending on weather conditions - enjoy a wide view of the water through the large French doors, including the characteristic white starting tower and the Kaagsociëteit/Restaurant Waterlust. In short, you'll soon feel as lucky as the members of the family that has owned this place since the early 1960s. Realize that the houseboat can only be reached by water! Transport to and from this houseboat is by ferry from the parking lot at the very end of a dead end road, the Zijldijk (municipality of Warmond); costs €4,- per crossing. Cost of parking is €4,50 per day per car. NOTE: in case of weekend rentals, the check-out time on Sunday is before 17:00h and check-IN time from 19:00h; in all other cases it is before 12:00h and from 16:00h respectively. So this nature house is situated on an island, the Zwanburgerpolder - to be explored via a footbridge - where you can find all the Dutch meadow birds, including the black-tailed godwit as well as the organic cheese farm 'De Eenzaamheid'. By water you can explore the Kagerplassen by canoe, kayak and possibly motorboat. The kayak and canoe are to be used at your own risk, but the motorboat is only to be used/rented on condition of extensive experience on inland waterways. For the use of motorboat (steel punt with 8 hp outboard motor) we charge a fee of €30 per day, which will be deducted from the deposit afterwards. When using the motorboat, a trial run is required upon arrival, including mooring and unmooring. The petrol tank is full on arrival and must be left full on departure (petrol pump available in the parking lot).
