This bunker served as a hiding place for soldiers. A few years ago it was made habitable and the real enthusiasts can enjoy themselves here. The nature house is fairly basic, provide your own hand and bed linen and sleeping bags. Mattresses are available. Cooking utensils, plates and glasses are on the shelf. A small electric 2 burner, a mini-fridge and a folding table should make your stay here the best experience.This bunker can be compared to a very small caravan in terms of furnishings. There is limited cooking facilities and a very small refrigerator. You can use the general toilet block in the Contrescarpe. Here is also a room with shower and sink especially for bunker residents and campers. These facilities can be reached through the poterne. NOTE: Without bedding and towels !!!! NOTE: It is only small 4 x 3 mtr and only 1.75 high. The entrance must be taken stooped so watch your back!

The Fort is part of the New Dutch Waterline, a line of defense that could only be started in 1845. This line runs from Muiden to the Biesbosch and contains more than 60 fortifications. One tower fort that was built in 1845. Already in 1878 a major reconstruction takes place: the construction of the Contrescarp. The fort is owned by the Forestry Commission and has been completely renovated under the direction of the St. Wandel en FietsForten and made usable again for the next 50 years. This restoration lasted 6 years and concluded with the rebuilding of the Fort Watch.
