Always wanted to experience what it is like to be at anchor? I will gladly bring you with our classic sailing boat to Durgerdam where you can float for 2 or 3 nights. Departure from the Borneokade in Amsterdam, by public transport (Tram 26 from Central Station, Rietlandpark, then 5min walk) or by car (P&R Zeeburg for 1EUR per day, then 1 stop Tram 26, Rietlandpark) then 5min walk From the Borneokade I will sail with you via the Oranjesluizen in 1 hour to Durgerdam where we choose a nice spot. With a small dinghy we go together to the shore and you sail yourself (300m) back to the yacht. On the spot you can enjoy the tranquility. Durgerdam at your feet is beautiful, further you can see Amsterdam, IJburg, lighthouse island and Pampus in the distance. It is simple. There is cold running water, you can cook on 2 gas burners, there is a toilet. You can swim via the swimming ladder behind the boat, there is no shower. There is also a USB charger, 220V (limited e.g. to charge a laptop). No wifi
Nature and surroundings
The cruise of is about an hour and very worthwhile: From the Eastern Islands we go across the IJ, through the Oranjesluizen and then onto the IJmeer towards Durgerdam. Durgerdam is a beautiful dike village on the former Zuiderzee and the current IJmeer. Totally authentic and much quieter than eg Volendam. You can drink coffee there are no stores. The Landmarkt, delicious supermarket with many local products is possibly 2km walk. In the food and lunch café, camping Badhoeve, 1.5km walk along the dike in the other direction you can eat a simple daily snack. Furthermore, waterland is at your feet, beautiful walking areas with Ransdorp, and possibly Holysloot (6km) where you will find 'the little school'. Finally bus 37, stop Liergauw about 2km walk, this bus takes you to Amsterdam East, Amstel station or Station Noord
