The Parco Val della Sanagra, or Sanagra Valley, is located between Lake Como and Lake Lugano. It became an official protected area in 2005 and consists of stretches covered with vast forests of birch, oak, chestnut, beech and fir, alpine meadows, hills, mountain peaks, unique rock formations and several waterfalls.
