This nature house is a spacious and comfortable barn house with a unique and broad view of farmlands and nature reserves of the landscape of Drenthe (the valley “Hunzedal” and Unesco Global Geopark “De Hondsrug”). It is the extension of a rentier house from 1907 with a rich history. The house is on the ground floor and consists of a spacious entrance, a large living room with a kitchen in the corner (65 m2), bedroom (30 m2) and a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower, bubble bath and toilet (6 m2). The carefully decorated living room has a well-equipped bookshelf, a comfortable couch, a large dining table and two sliding doors to the terrace. The terrace is situated on the southwest and features the setting sun, whose sunsets are wonderful! The kitchen is well-equipped with modern devices for a comfortable living (coffee machine, oven, dishwasher). The bedroom has a new mattress (1.60 x 2.00m), wardrobe, sink and a seat at the window (sliding door). Two free bikes are available.

The nature house is located in the outer area of Nieuw Annerveen: a small village that borders the Groninger Veenkoloniën (the former peat districts) and the Drentse Hondsrug (a vast area of sand ridges and stream valleys). Furthermore, the house is situated next to the Hunze: a centuries old meandering river with a beaver lodge. Walking tours, bike rides, canoeing: from the house you can go via different routes. Along the way you will encounter various animals such as deer, hares, pheasants and many bird species. In the surroundings, you will find small villages with each their own character such as Annen, Zuidlaren and Gieten. Hunebedden (dolmen), village markets, regional museums: it is all nearby. The citie of Groningen is only a 25-minute car drive away and offers an extensive range of historic, social, and cultural activities. Although you will also find this near the house: the local pub 't Keerpunt exists since 1750 and has an international reputation within the music scene.
