Glamping has recently gained more popularity but it has been one of our favorite accommodation types for some time now. It is perfect for camping beginners, who enjoy the nature surrounding and the advantages of camping, however prefer to have a more luxurious experience. All of our glamping options are equipped with modern facilities for your comfort. The hosts always make sure that you are going to have a pleasant stay!

For a weekend of glamping, we have gathered a list of suggestions with our most favorite glamping destinations! The best of the best! Nevertheless, the easiest way to choose your destination and you accommodation is to first get an idea of what exactly it is you want to do on your weekend getaway. Time is constraining so your best policy will be to focus on one to two things to discover, one for each of the weekend days.

Natural wonders to discover

The Italian region of Tuscany has remarkable natural wonders for you to discover and staying at a glamping is the best way to do it. Tuscany is filled with protected areas and parks, but if we had to choose one, we would probably go to the Val d’Orcia. This is a valley with magnificent historical and cultural significance for Italy. Walking and enjoying nature is something even locals love doing here, the whole atmosphere of this place is sublime. On your trip here expect to meet and fall in love with the friendly local population (mainly seniors). You will have a chance to see many medieval castles and ancient villages, farmhouses and homesteads far from any modern-day world problems. There are hundreds of wineries and vineyards here, so make sure to try the wine, it is out of this world!

The Netherlands also don’t lack in terms of nature too and the province of Friesland is among our favorite glamping spots! The Schiermonnikoog National Park is an amazing place for nature enthusiasts and one of the most visited national parks in the Netherlands. Schiermonnikoog was the first Dutch national park and incorporates the 14 West Frisian Islands in the North Sea, as well the Wadden Sea – a UNESCO recognized intertidal zone with huge ecological significance. There is only one inhabited town on one of all the islands and it bears the same very hard to pronounce name. The town is car-free and you can explore it by foot or by bike for a daily dose of weekend exercise.

Activities

Another area in Friesland, which is great for walking and cycling is the Drents-Friese Wold – a vast network of more than 50 km of bike trails and 130 km of walking paths welcome you and take you on a beautiful adventure through forests, fans and sand-drifts.

In Denmark (another popular glamping destination) the island of Mon is loved by adrenaline-seeking individuals. You can enjoy the water and some sports such as sailing, kayaking, fishing, and canoeing. Scuba diving will take you on an exploration of marine life here. If you want to travel with your kids, the Eifel region in Germany provides amazing glamping possibilities to its visitors. The Wildlife Park in Daun is the best place to watch wildlife in their natural habitat and interact with many animals on a drive-through way.
