Treehouse Portugal

Portugal is one of the busiest summer destinations in Europe. Its natural wonders however are often overlooked. Portugal is a strip of land on the western coast of the Iberian Peninsula. The territory also includes the two archipelagos in the Atlantic Ocean – Madeira and the Azores. It is an amazing destination, especially for people who want to enjoy both relaxing on the beaches and something more active.

Did you know that you can combine your love for nature and your childhood dream for a treehouse and have the time of your life? By booking a treehouse, you book yourself an unforgettable adventure. Our treehouses in Portugal will surely make you feel young and will remind you of the euphoric feeling we often feel when we are small. The treehouses are equipped accordingly to make you feel comfortable and satisfy all your needs.

Nature of Portugal

The coastline of Portugal offers some of the best views of steep rocks diving into the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. In Ponta da Piedade (Algarve) you will find cliffs, numerous rock arches, small hidden caves, and romantic pathways. Another beautiful spot is the Ria Formosa National Park – a lagoon located in the area. This region is in reality a system of islands with six inlets from the Atlantic Ocean. Apart from being a national park, this place is also important for Portugal’s economy as some of the waters are used as waterways, and on others there are seafood farms.

The archipelago of Madeira is another unique destination for your trip. The main island is a green paradise of nature laying on top of a submerged volcano. With wild forests and a coastline of 150 km, there is no way you will get bored here. Definitely, the greenest place here is the Laurissilva ancient forest, home to gigantic trees, as well as rare bird species such as Zino’s petrel. Laurissilva is part of the Madeira Nature Reserve and a recognized Natural Heritage for Humanity by UNESCO.

Garajau is another nature reserve in Madeira, which presents an interest not only to tourists, but also to scientists. They often come here to study marine species and their life in the rich diversity of the protected area. The easternmost peninsula on the other hand, is where Ponta de São Lourenço is located. This is another reserve, which is untouched by humans to this day in most of its territory. The nature here is strongly specific to the island of Madeira and you can explore it only on an organized tour with a guide!

Activities

Surprisingly, Portugal is suitable and a popular destination for biking, and such a pastime is sure to bring a lot of joy to everybody! The hikers among you will be thrilled to know that the possibilities for hiking are truly endless. Our favorite trail however has always been to the top of Pico Ruivo on Madeira. Castelejo Trail is another hiking path, which provides a more laid back experience. It follows the coastline and the steep cliffs, through secluded beaches and small hidden bays. The Azores are the perfect destination for water-based activities – whale and dolphin watching, surfing, paddle boarding and so on.
