An inexhaustible list of entertainment awaits you: trendy discos, flamenco shows, taverns and cozy bars, educational excursions around Madrid. You just have to book your weekend in Madrid!

Spain: flora and fauna

In this country, there are almost 8 thousand different species of plants(and this is without taking into account the flora of the Canary Islands). Most types of vegetation are endemic(growing exclusively in this area). Once Spain was buried in dense forests, but now only a small part of them remains, concentrated in the northern part of the country.

In those provinces of Spain in which there is enough moisture, mainly broad-leaved forests grow: oaks, beeches, ash trees, elms, poplars, chestnuts and lindens. Slightly higher, in the mountains, there are evergreen tree species: spruce, pine and evergreen oak species. And very high in the mountains, the forests smoothly turn into picturesque alpine meadows, the beauty of which you will have the opportunity to see by purchasing tickets to Spain.

In the Galician mountain range, as well as on the North Atlantic slopes of the Cantabrian mountains, there is the richest flora in Spain. These areas are called "green Spain". At the foot of the mountains, in the valley of the Ebro River, evergreen grasses and shrubs grow, however, there are also plants characteristic of semi-deserts, among which the most are salt marshes and wormwood. The arid part of the country is dominated by semi-shrubs(tomillars), Mediterranean vegetation, and evergreen shrubs.

Spain is distinguished by a huge variety of fauna. In the northern part of the country, there are many roe deer, deer and wild boars. Red deer live in the mountainous areas(sport hunting is allowed on them) and the Pyrenean ibex. Brown bears are sometimes found in the León Mountains and in the Cantabrian Mountains. At the mouth of the Guadalquivir River, a small number of lynxes, wolves and foxes have survived.

In terms of the number of bird species living here, Spain is confidently leading among all European countries. In the summer season, you can meet as many as 25 breeds of birds of prey(eagles, hawks, falcons, griffins). By the way, the most numerous colony of black hawks lives on the Tagus River, on the Torrejón reservoir(which can be quickly reached if you book a car rental in Spain). The best time to watch birds is at the very beginning of spring or at the end of autumn. Many rare bird species only hibernate in Spain. There are also a lot of waterfowl(ducks, flamingos, geese, white storks and herons) in the country.

Also, in Spain, there are many species of reptiles(snakes, lizards, chameleons), there are also scorpions, tarantulas. There are many fish(sardine, cod, anchovies, herring, tuna, salmon, etc.) in the reservoirs.
